The latest off-the-wall promotion from JetBlue Airways celebrated the
release of the movie “Rock of Ages” featuring Night Ranger.
The theme was “What’s Your Price for Flight,” playing off the lyrics of the 80s band’s most
famous song, “Sister Christian.” The one-day sale on June 15, which corresponded with nationwide release of the Warner Bros. movie, rolled prices back to the 80s.
Some
flights were as low as $40 for travel between Long Beach and Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento or Las Vegas and $70 for all-in travel between Long Beach and Seattle or Portland, Ore. Travel had to be
scheduled for Sept. 11 Oct. 3.
JetBlue also hosted a special performance by the rock band Night Ranger June 14 at Long Beach Airport. Best known for their 1984 mega-hit “Sister Christian,”
which is featured in New Line Cinema’s new musical film ‘Rock of Ages,’ Night Ranger performed the first-ever live musical concert at Long Beach Airport.
JetBlue partnered with Long Beach
Airport, KLOS-FM and Warner Bros. for this special customer experience. Fans enjoyed a personal, intimate acoustic 30-minute performance of the rock band’s classics.
Night Ranger performed
with JetBlue’s runways and Los Angeles County as its backdrop. Additionally, fans paid homage to the ’80s by showing up clad in their finest threads from the era. JetBlue representatives were on hand
with great prizes such as travel certificates for the first 80 fans that showed up in ’80s gear and a vacation package for the most original costume.

“JetBlue is already a musically inclined airline, so we
are excited to present this unique salute to the ’80s to our customers” said Jace Hieda, regional marketing manager, JetBlue, in a release.
Night Ranger’s albums have sold over 17 million
copies worldwide. Celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, the band has performed 2,500 shows throughout their career.
